Review: “Nebraska” was the first movie I saw directed by Alexander Payne. Nominated for several categories in this year’s Academy Awards, the movie also won several awards in the past weeks. A black and white, slow-paced movie that I ended up enjoying. A curious adventure of an old man who makes the trip from Montana to Nebraska in order to claim a million-dollar prize. Accompanied by his sons and his wife, Woody Grant’s journey for a million dollar Mega Sweepstakes Marketing prize is a great story about family relationships. Despite being a movie that was not made to please the masses because of its slow pace, “Nebraska” ended up being a different and moving adventure.
A movie about sharing bonds with your family members. A father and son road trip with some funny moments in the middle (most of them because of June Squibb’s acting skills). The moment’s they share in the road trip are moving and Bruce Dern’s performance was truly outstanding.
Nominated for 6 Oscars, Alexander Payne’s new movie is not made for everyone but if you are looking forward to watch a movie today and if you enjoy slow-paced movies, then this moving adventure might be a good suggestion.
