Review: First of all, what do you expect from a movie about four teenage girls who are trying to spare some money for spring break vacation? I expected a really crazy movie, something that looked a bit like Project X and perhaps some of you think the same as I did. I was wrong, terribly wrong. I was not expecting and I was not even prepared for what “Spring Breakers” offered me. It had a lot more substance than I was expecting and seriously, James Franco’s performance was almost brilliant. So if you’re expecting a movie about crazy parties and wild teens you will feel the same as I did while watching this movie.
“Spring Breakers” it’s about four teenage girls that hold up a restaurant and that are trying to spare same money for spring break vacation, their huge dream. So, while they are at their vacation, they are arrested while partying. And that’s when they meet a drug dealer, Alien, brilliantly interpreted by James Franco, that bails them out and that will change their lives forever. Alien was perhaps the only reason that made this movie a little bit surprising and therefore well recieved by the critics.
Instead of delivering just sequences of parties and wild teens, “Spring Breakers” offers an entertaining story that looks a bit like a really long nightmare.
